Our Story

Salienz Law is a boutique practice in intellectual property and litigation, founded in 2025, after merging with Khan Consulting Services. The firm’s attorneys are licensed in Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia, and registered to practice before the USPTO (since 2007).

Our Attorneys

Amer A. Khan, Esq.

Co-Founder and Managing Partner · Registered Patent Attorney

Mr. Khan is the co-founder and managing partner of Salienz Law. Since 2019, first through Khan Consulting Services and now at the firm, he has advised clients on patent applications, patent due diligence, and freedom-to-operate and patentability questions; drafted and amended technology and commercial contracts; advised corporate clients on compliance under GDPR, HIPAA, FLSA and FMLA; and prepared pleadings, motions and appellate briefs. His federal experience includes eDiscovery and litigation support for federal agencies.

Mr. Khan’s work in intellectual property began in 2005 at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, as an examining extern in the biotechnology and chemical arts following examiner training at the USPTO Patent Academy. He has been registered to practice before the USPTO since 2007, first as a patent agent.

Between 2005 and 2013, he examined more than 400 international (PCT) applications and prepared more than 800 search reports and written opinions for publication by the World Intellectual Property Organization, in fields ranging from software, computing and electrical systems to chemistry and the life sciences, while also preparing U.S. provisional and non-provisional applications for private clients. Before pivoting to law, Mr. Khan was a research scientist in cardiology and biomedical engineering and co-authored six publications on drug delivery.

Mr. Khan holds a J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, with a Certificate in Trial Advocacy and Litigation, and a B.A. in Biology from Franklin & Marshall College. Mr. Khan is registered to practice before the USPTO and is admitted to the Pennsylvania and District of Columbia bars. He has been a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Brooklyn Bar Association, the Association for Computing Machinery and the American Chemical Society.
